Intercept Research

Intercepts collect data from respondents through the most powerful method of research; in-person interview immediately following an experience with a product or service.  Such instant feedback results in more accurate information collected and, based on the answers, the intercept agent can better control the selection of the respondent sample.

While the number of responses collected using intercept research is typically lower than other survey methods, a properly trained intercept agent can provide value by respondent selection, offer incentives to respondents, and assist with survey implementation accuracy. For this reason intercepts are reserved for the more complex research cases, such as:

  • Capturing feedback from prospects who chose against making a purchase
  • Measuring customer satisfaction at key points of a complex service transaction
  • Pinpointing an exact time in the purchase cycle when assessing customer experience will provide the most valuable information
