CX Tech Top-ups:  Automate Temperature Checks with Thermoworks Integration

Since launching our Temperature Question feature in 2025, we’ve helped thousands of users digitize their safety logs. Today, we’re taking that foundation to the next level.

We are excited to introduce a seamless hardware enhancement for IntouchCheck®: Bluetooth Integration for ThermoWorks® thermometers.

What's New?

You can now capture accurate, real-time temperature readings directly into your checklists without any manual input. The temperature data syncs automatically from the hardware, simplifying temperature-based checks for industries like food safety, healthcare, and facilities management. Currently, this feature is built specifically to leverage the industry-leading  Thermapen® ONE Blue.

How it works

For IntouchCheck® Admin Users

Setting up your checklists is simple. Admins can enable this feature on any Temperature question by switching the "Enable Bluetooth" toggle on. This instantly allows the question to accept readings from a paired Thermoworks device.

For IntouchCheck® Web and Mobile App

Here are the steps you'll need to enable this functionality 

  1. Capturing accurate temperature in the field is quick and intuitive for your operators.  

  2. Check Bluetooth Status: Verify the smartphone's Bluetooth hardware is toggled ON.

  3. Initialize Discovery: Navigate to the "Temperature" section on your checklist and click the Connect button. 

  4. Trigger Device Scan: Click the button for the app to begin searching for nearby compatible hardware.

  5. Select Available Device: Choose your specific thermometer from the list of available devices. If no device is found, the UI will simply display a prompt to click to scan again.

  6. Connection State: Once the handshake is complete, the app displays the live post-connection temperature reading (e.g., 98.6°F or 37°C) right on the screen. 

  7. Disconnect: Users are provided with the option to easily disconnect the device to end the session or switch to a different sensor.

For Intouch Intelligence (IQ)

This update goes beyond the field to provide smarter, audit-ready data on the backend:

  • Ironclad Records: The record view displays temperature responses exactly as captured from the Bluetooth thermometer. To ensure total data integrity, entries synced via hardware will include a source indicator, such as "75.2 °C (Bluetooth)".
  • Device Metadata: The record view will also automatically log metadata, including the device’s name and serial number from which the temperature was captured.
  • Trend Analysis: High-fidelity data synced from the  Thermapen® (including exact decimal precision) allows for much more accurate trend spotting in your Dashboards.
  • Instant Action: A Trigger or Rule can be created to fire automatically when a temperature question outcome is recorded as non-compliant (Not OK).
